In 1993, BorgWarner established its first joint venture in Beijing, producing the manual transmission.
In 1998, BorgWarner and Shenglong Group jointly set up a joint venture in Ningbo: BorgWarner Shenglong (Ningbo) Co., Ltd., producing fan, fan clutch and other products.
In 2001, BorgWarner and Beijing Hainachuan Automotive Components Company established a joint venture: BorgWarner TorqTransfer Systems (Beijing) Co., Ltd., producing the power divider.
In 2005, BorgWarner established the sole proprietorship in Ningbo: BorgWarner Automotive Components (Ningbo) Co., Ltd., including Turbo Systems, Morse, Emissions Systems and BERU Systems.
In 2008, BorgWarner (China) Investment Co., Ltd. was set up in Shanghai.
In 2009, BorgWarner established a joint venture in Dalian: BorgWarner United Transmission Systems Co., Ltd., producing and developing the core product of the double clutch automatic transmission: double clutch module, torsional vibration damper module and control module.
In 2010, BorgWarner set up R&D center in Shanghai Zizhu Hi-Tech Park.
In 2011, BorgWarner TorqTransfer Systems (Beijing) Co., Ltd. expanded the scale of production and operation, and moved to the new factory located in Tongzhou District of Beijing.
In 2012, BorgWarner Ningbo R&D Center was established, and new factory of BorgWarner Morse was opened, to inject more research and development strength for Engine Group.
In 2013, BorgWarner Automotive Components (Jiangsu) Co., Ltd. was set up in Taicang of Jiangsu Province, producing the key components of turbochargers and other engines.
